Giving FAQs

Q: What is online giving?
Online giving is the ability to give a donation or schedule a series of donations on our website, using your checking account or savings account.

Q: How do I sign up?
If you are an regular Cross Roads attender and you already have access to the Cross Roads online directory, there is no sign-up needed. Simply select the Give Now link to sign-in with your existing email address and password, to access the secure 'Giving' tab. If you are new to Cross Roads, you can follow the instructions on the New Giver page.

Q: Is online giving secure?
All checking account or savings account information is entered on a secure page on our site. You log into your account with your email address and password. No one has access to your data unless authorized by you.

Q: Are there any hidden charges or fees to give online?
No. You select the dollar amount for your gift. That is the dollar amount that will be recognized as your donation.

Q: Can I try out online giving just one time?
Sure. After logging into the secure site, and selecting the 'Giving' tab, select "None" in the 'Recurrence' drop-down box.

Q: Can I set up an automatic online giving schedule?
Yes. You can choose weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly giving schedules. Adjustments can be made at anytime by you using your email address and password.

Q: Once I set up a giving schedule, can I change or cancel it?
Yes, you can make adjustments to your weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly giving schedules by logging into your account using the email address and password.

Q: How will I know when my donation will be withdrawn from my account?
You can specify what date you want the donation to be withdrawn from your account on the secure 'Giving' page. Donations will automatically be withdrawn on the requested date, or next banking day. For recurring donations, the donation amount will continue to be withdrawn on the scheduled frequency until you cancel or modify the request. You will also receive a confirmation after the donation has been posted.

Q: Can I make an online debit card or credit card donation?
No. There are additional fees associated with debit/credit card giving, so Cross Roads is not planning to provide this capability.

Q: How do I designate my gift to more than one fund or ministry?
Enter the amount you want to give to the first ministry, and select the designated fund in the dropdown box. Then click '+ Add Another Amount' to add additional donation lines.

Q: The ministry I want to donate to is not in the list of Designated Funds.
Select 'Other' in the list of Designated Funds. Then provide a description in the 'Comments' field. The ministry you wish to donate to must be an approved 501c(3) non-profit organization.

Q: What is the 'Payment' fund used for?
This option is available for future use, to allow registration for events, or payment of books/materials. Donations to this fund are NOT tax deductible, and will not show up on your giving statement.

Q: I did not receive a confirmation email after my donation was given.
Check the 'junk mail' settings on your email account. You may need to add to your contact list.

Q: Can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
All online contributions are recorded on your secure 'Giving' page, and can be viewed at any time. You can also print a giving statement directly from that page at any time. See instructions on the Giving Statements page.

Q: I currently use the offering envelope system. Will my offering envelope contributions also be displayed in my online giving page?
At this time, donations given via offering envelopes are not recorded in your online giving page. This may be a future enhancement, but for now, you will receive two separate giving statements if you use both online giving and the envelope system.

Q: I want to give online, but would feel awkward in the Sunday AM service not putting anything in the offering basket.
Cross Roads has prepared small cards labeled 'I Give Online' that are available at the welcome station in the lobby. These cards can be placed in the collection basket as a means of participating in the offering during the service.
