EMBRACING CHANGE
Reflect on Change:
- Think about the ways you experienced change during the mission trip. This could be physical, emotional, or spiritual changes. Write down at least one significant change you observed in yourself.
Scripture Reflection:
- Reflect on Romans 12:2: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—God’s good, pleasing and perfect will."
- Consider how stepping out of your usual routine during the mission trip might have helped you to renew your mind. Write about a specific moment when you felt your perspective shift or your understanding deepen.
Food for Thought:
Think about how change can be both challenging and beneficial. Reflect on these questions:
- How much are you stuck in your ways of thinking and behaving?
- Do you think that change is generally a good thing? Explain.
- What is one new experience you could try this week?
Prayer:
- Spend a few moments in prayer, asking God to help you embrace change and renew your mind. Thank Him for the experiences that have helped you grow and ask for guidance in trying new things.

KINDNESS AND COMPASSION
Reflect on Kindness:
- Think about a time when someone was kind to you during the mission trip. How did it make you feel? Write about this experience and how it impacted you.
Scripture Reflection:
- Reflect on Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
- Write about what it means to be kind and compassionate. Consider how you can extend forgiveness and kindness to others in your daily life.
Imagining Change:
- Imagine a world where everyone practiced kindness all the time. How would your school, community, or world change? Write about your vision for this kind of world and how you can contribute to making it a reality.
Food for Thought:
Reflect on these questions:
- How far are you willing to go in order to be kind – what’s your limit?
- How are kindness and forgiveness the same, and how are they different?
- Is there anything that is unforgivable? Explain.
Prayer:
- Spend a few moments in prayer, asking God to fill you with kindness and compassion. Ask for the strength to be kind even in difficult situations and to forgive others as Christ has forgiven you.
JUSTICE, KINDNESS, AND HUMILITY
Reflect on Choices:
- Think about a difficult choice you had to make recently. Did you choose the right thing, or did you find a loophole? Write about your decision-making process and how you felt about the outcome.
Scripture Reflection:
- Reflect on Micah 6:8: "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
- Write about what it means to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God. Consider how you can apply these principles in your daily life.
Creative Reflection:
- Take some time to create a visual representation of one of the following concepts: justice, kindness, or humility. Use any materials you have on hand to draw, build, or collage your idea. Reflect on what this concept means to you as you create.
Food for Thought:
Reflect on these questions:
- Do justice – how can you stand up for what is right in your community?
- Love kindness – why is being kind more important than being a winner?
- Walk humbly – how can you serve others without seeking recognition?
Prayer:
- Spend a few moments in prayer, asking God to help you live a life that reflects justice, kindness, and humility. Ask for the wisdom to make the right choices and the courage to stand up for what is right.
